112mm Long U-bolt

112mm long galvanised or electrogal u-bolts are used with nylons and washers to clamp jockey wheels to trailers.

They also use an 8mm electrogal shackle plate as a clamp.

Fitting boat springs onto an angle iron helps fabricators find the centre of gravity. The angle is moved forward and backward until equilibrium is found.

Clamps are then used to secure the spring to the trailer chassis.

Ensure the 1/2 inch u-bolts are tightened after 300 kilometres.

Once retightened no further adjustments are required once retightened, provided the rig has been free of shock loading since retightening.

However, it is wise to check U-bolts at every service event.
