10-inch Dexter aftermarket magnet fits both left and right-hand side backing plates. Install backing plates with the magnet facing down.

Dexter brake magnets are identified by their black leads.

Electric brake magnets require first-class cabling to work efficiently. Small cable causes voltage loss and inefficient braking.

6mm automotive cable is the minimum size; larger cables are acceptable.

Larger cables reduce voltage losses over longer lengths of the cable run.

Electric backing plates are identical except for the brake magnet arm.

The left magnet arm will be on the left side of the backing plate.

Finally, the magnet is secured to the magnet arm with a magnet clip. Replace the clip after removal.
