9″ Mechanical Shoes are held in place by two springs.
- Bottom Spring = 117 mm
- Top Spring = 135mm
The shoes must automatically re-tension after a braking event. These springs provide the shoe tension to reset the brake shoes into the correct position, ready for the next braking event.
Tip: Handbrake lever is located on the bottom of the backing plate.
This can be tricky because the electric park brake is the opposite and mounted on the top of the backing plate.
