5 Leaf Outback Spring

5 leaf outback rebound spring from Al-ko is robust off-road suspension used by Caravans and Camper Trailers.

When replacing this spring, it is wise to replace the shackle plates and shackle bolts.

Purchase the most suitable 5/8″ or 16mm shackle bolts and plates here.

However, before purchasing a replacement spring and bushes, take your rig over a weight bridge. If your rig ATM is close to the limit, upgrade the springs.

An alternative to spring upgrades is Rubber Spring Overrides. Spring overrides take over once the spring has reached maximum compression.

Excess weight is then transferred directly from the chassis to the axle, bypassing the spring.
