  • 50mm Round
  • 50mm Square
  • 60mm Round

Introducing our new ElectroGal Australian Made fishplate. ElectroGal has been saltwater tested to provide you with superior anti-corrosion qualities to the hot-dipped galvanising process.

Suit U bolts

  • 8mm - 39mm to 60mm. Suit Springs 45mm wide
  • ElectroGal 10mm - 45-60mm, Suit 60mm Springs

TIP1. Do not tighten your u bolts with a rattle gun. Putting uneven pressure on this fishplate is the most common cause of spring breaking. The use of rattle guns can overheat and melt the nylon insert inside the nut.

It is common for customers to tell us their springs have broken in the middle or on the centre bolt.

TIP2: Tighten up your u bolts with a ring spanner evenly. When your fish plate starts to bend, STOP. Tightening your fish plate any further at this point puts zero extra pressure on your springs and does not hold your springs in place better.

TIP3: The purpose of the slotted fish plate is not to hold your spring in place but to clamp the spring to the axle. The spring is already in the correct place and bolted to the chassis rail. The only place the axle is fixed to the trailer is through the slotted fish plate.

What to do when replacing caravan or trailer springs.
