8mm Galvanised Slipper Spring 710mm Heavy Duty
8mm galvanised slipper spring 710mm is a durable highway spring designed to withstand the rigours high speed can inflict on boat trailer suspension.
This spring is a good option for boat trailers, caravans, and other trailers that need a heavy-duty suspension. It is also a good choice for trailers that will be used in harsh conditions, such as off-road trailers.
This style of spring has the traditional eye and a tail, which slides in a keeper or hanger welded to the trailer's chassis.

- Seven leaf - 850kg
For example, a tandem trailer weighing 2,000kg x 120@ = 2,400kg
Axles, springs and associated equipment must rate a total of 2,400kg
Usually, using 2 x 40mm Square axles on a 2000kg trailer with slipper springs is generally standard practice. Wrong.
Heavy Duty Galvanised Slipper Springs do not load share or transfer load across both axles.
For example, each wheel in the above example has a loading of 2,000kg / four wheels or 500kg per wheel.
Drive your trailer onto a gutter using only one wheel, and you will find the wheel on the same side is lifted off the ground.
The wheel OFF the ground is carrying zero kg.
The wheel on the ground carries 1,000kg, while the other two wheels on the ground have 1,000 kilograms.
The axle with wheels on the ground is carrying 1,500kg.
If you want your trailer to have a smooth ride, use shackle or rocker roller springs.
I noticed the shock loading on the trailer from roadside potholes was not as severe on the trailer.
Although 8mm galvanized slipper springs are an excellent low-budget solution, however, if your budget allows goto shackle or rocker roller springs,
Finally, if your springs are aging prematurely, you may suffer vibration fatigue. Spring fatigue occurs when your axle is undersized, causing the vibrations to travel into your spring suspension.
