Boat and Box trailers use simple suspension systems in single axle and tandem axle configurations.
However, tandem axle suspension is not load sharing, and as a result, the spring must be 20% larger in load sharing.
Why?
Axle loadings for slipper suspension are limited to 120% of full load.
For example, with one wheel on the gutter, the other wheel is not touching the ground. As a result, tandem axles do not share the load.
