36.4kN Anti-Rattle Pintle Hook for Vehicle Tow Bars | 6.0t Pintle Hitch Receiver Kit
Pintle hooks are the key link from your tow vehicle to your trailer.
In the towing industry, there’s nothing more dangerous than a poor quality, loose-fitting, or otherwise ill-fit component.
Having a strong and sturdy connection between your work vehicle and trailer is important to maintain safety. Forged from high-strength steel, this anti-rattle pintle hook offers a robust link between your car and trailer, while also ensuring the receiver tongue is snug in your tow bar.
Couplemate™ designed this tow hitch kit to provide the utmost in:
- Security: Forged pintle hook receiver fully ADR compliant and tested by engineers.
- Safety: All components are made from high-quality materials and workmanship.
- Sanity: Custom-fit shims to target problem areas in your tow bar causing looseness.
What’s Included in the Kit?
- 1 x 36.4kN Forged Pintle Hook Receiver (with chain and clip)
- 2 x Stainless Steel Shims (0.5mm)
- 2 x Stainless Steel Shims (0.9mm)
What Makes the 6.0t Pintle Hitch Receiver Strong?
Investing in high-quality components is essential for all vehicles on our roads, as safe and adequately rated components help us protect all Australians on the road.
This kit includes the Couplemate™ CM535 which is a pintle hook with a tow bar receiver arm that is specifically engineered to provide safe towing.
Each receiver is forged as a single-piece from high-strength carbon steel. This makes the hitch robust and without the weak points commonly seen in welded or fabricated components.
Moreover, the pintle hitch receiver has passed rigorous testing to ensure a safe and secure connection for applications up to 6000kg (6.0t) ATM.
Couplemate™ is proud to only supply ADR 62 compliant towing equipment.
- V-Value: 33kN
- D-Value: 36.4kN
What Makes this an “Anti-Rattle” Kit?
We’ve included a set our CM256 Stainless Shims. Rattle occurs when there is too much “free space” between components. For example, if you have a loose tow bar tongue, the rattling comes from the steel of your tow bar vibrating against your receiver.
The noise is often louder when there’s no trailer attached to your vehicle.
Shims are supplied so that you can optimise the fitment for your needs. You can effectively target any problem areas inside your tow bar (including the top, bottom, or sides) to effectively minimise rattle.
See our YouTube video for a quick guide (great for visual learners):
We also have a handy written “How-To” guide here: Install Your Shims in 4 Steps.
Couplemate™ Engineers generally recommend steering away from Hitch Clamps, as the installation is difficult to do correctly and safely
Towing D-Values: 36.4kN
D-Values refer to the maximum force that can be safely exerted on a component along a prescribed axis.
Putting it simply, a D-Value assigns a rating to towing connections.
Please use the table below to ensure the 36.4kN value suits your application.
