Stainless Tow Bar Anti-Rattle Shim | 4-Piece Kit

The Couplemate™ Anti-Rattle Shim kit is specifically engineered to eliminate the excessive slack between the tow bar and the hitch/receiver.

When installed, these anti-rattle hitch shims secure the receiver shank, stopping your hitch from rattling within the tow bar.

Why Does Receiver Bar Rattle Occur?

Rattle occurs due to space between your tow bar and hitch/receiver. Tow bar shims are the best way to reduce rattle.

Most Australian tow bars are a 50mm x 50mm box section, which is why our premium cast receivers have a 2-inch shank. However, not all tow bars on the market are this size, meaning that the additional space generates a rattling noise.

Couplemate™ Engineers generally recommend steering away from Hitch Clamps, as the installation is difficult to do correctly and safely. Instead, customers chasing an anti-rattle tow hitch may have a better experience using our Stainless Shim Kit.

The Couplemate™ Anti-Rattle Shim Kit can be fitted to your tow bar in under five minutes. Installation is easy and requires no technical knowledge.

You will need a set of pliers to cut the unnecessary material, as well as a hammer to bend to bend the plate.
