56mm Square Galvanised Chassis U-Bolt incl Nylocks, and Washers

56mm square galvanised u-bolt includes nylocks and washers. The 56mm u-bolt secures mudguard and spring brackets on galvanised boat trailers.

U-bolts have rolled 1/2 inch threads and include galvanised flat washer and galvanised nylock. The thread length is 60mm.

56mm square u-bolts are available in various lengths to suit multiple chassis rail thicknesses.

U-bolts must be re-tighten approx 300 km after installation due to steel's ability to stretch a little under load.

Once you have re-tightened your u-bolts the final time, you should never have to recheck them. Once the mild steel stretches the first time, you should expect the final tighten to be 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

Stress Tests

Break loads exceed 17t for 1/2 inch galvanised u bolts.

U-bolts are de-rated to 375kg each or 1.5t per set of 4 or enough u-bolts to suit a single axle.

The max rating of 60mm Round axles is 3t with a u-bolt rating @ 1.5t.

Furthermore, we tested these u bolts during manufacture and batch tests until destruction.

Destruction loads exceed 17,000kg for 1/2 inch galvanised u bolts.

The max rating of 750kg axles is 750kg with ubolt rating @ 1500kg.

Further, vibration fatigue can loosen u-bolts if not re-tightened after 300 km.
