Installing new caravan indicator lights and sidelights for caravans
Quite often, installing new lights causes the tow vehicle to flicker. Flickering lamps are a severe problem, as the onboard computer will report the issue to your dashboard.
Installing an ECU to bypass the vehicle’s computer can resolve flickering indicator light issues.
Purchase universal ECUs here.
The onboard computer measures resistance, wattage and voltage drop to the newly installed lamps. It is quite likely that the new lights fall outside the computer’s specifications. Many, many tow bar installations are the best remedy: install a new ECU (electronic control unit) to control that LED light kit.
In 100% of cases, installing the ECU resolves flickering lights.
