How to Install ALKO Marine Seal
- Verify that the seal fits securely onto the axle journal before proceeding.
- Grease the ID of the seal before installation onto the axle.
- Insert the steel ring into the hub and ensure it is firmly seated against the outside boss of the wheel hub.
- Insert a rubber seal over the axle journal.
- Install the hub and bearings over the rubber seal.
The hub should be pressed firmly against the rubber seal, and the rubber seal should be firmly against the axle shoulder.
The axle shoulder prevents the seal from sliding further down the axle.To summarise, grease the seal’s lips to reduce friction during rotation.
