In recent years, Dexter purchased Al-ko International and then integrated MTCS into Al-ko’s distribution network. Dexter bearings are difficult to identify because outer bearing and seal configurations vary. The inner bearing will be consistent (25580).

The NSK Japan bearing kit includes front and rear bearings, a seal, and a pressed-steel hub cover.

Each kit is designed for easy wheel hub maintenance and as such, includes:

Dexter hubs normally use this bearing combination with a different seal. So, select a bearing kit that includes the correct grease seal for your application.

Installation Do’s & Don’ts

Do use a high-quality, high-temperature wheel bearing grease to thoroughly pack both bearings before fitting.
Do use an appropriate seal driving tool to install the GS-2250 seal flat and flush into the hub.
Do clean the spindle thoroughly and inspect it for scoring or damage before installing new parts.
Do adjust the spindle nut accurately—tighten to seat the bearings, then back off slightly to ensure smooth rotation without play.

🔴 Don’ts

Don’t use a hammer directly on the face of the GS-2250 seal, as this will distort the casing and cause immediate leaks.
Don’t mix different types or brands of grease, as chemical incompatibility can cause grease breakdown and bearing failure.
Don’t overtighten the spindle nut, as it creates excessive friction, rapid heat buildup, and premature component wear.
Don’t reuse old split pins or washers; always fit new hardware to lock the spindle nut safely.
