Jockey Wheels - Standard
The main difference between standard bolt-on and swivel jockey wheels lies in how they are stored during transit.
A swivel type rotates horizontally for travel, while a fixed type remains vertical and may require removal or significant height adjustment.
Both are commonly made of zinc-plated steel and have various weight ratings.
Common Features and Specifications
- Weight Rating: Standard models are typically rated for up to 350kg of static load, suitable for most light-to-medium trailers. Heavy-duty versions can reach 500kg+.
- Finish: Most are made of high-quality zinc-plated steel for excellent rust and corrosion resistance, making them suitable for marine environments.
Wheel Type: Standard wheels are often solid rubber with a steel or nylon rim, ideal for use on firm surfaces. - Diameter: The most common tube or sleeve diameter that clamps fit is 48mm. Heavy-duty options use 60mm or 63mm tubes.
- Replacement Parts: Both types support replacement wheels and handles, enabling long-term maintenance and customisation based on terrain (e.g., swapping to a pneumatic wheel for soft sand).
