Tighten evenly: Crank down both sides bit by bit to maintain even alignment and clamping pressure.
Recheck load: Tighten your nuts again after your initial trip to settle the load safely.

Don’t reuse worn parts: Discard old U-bolts showing heavy rust, deep cracks, or stripped threads.
Don’t force fit: Avoid using square-bend bolts on round axle setups, as they will not clamp properly.
Don’t over-torque: Avoid using aggressive impact wrenches that might strip the galvanised threads.
