What You SHOULD Do (Dos)

✓ Use matching marine grease: Fully pack the hub cavity and bearings with high-temperature, water-resistant marine wheel bearing grease to shield the internals from saltwater immersion.
✓ Flush with fresh water immediately: Thoroughly wash down the entire 50mm square galvanised axle and the **DeeMaxx braking system** with fresh water after every single boat ramp launch.
✓ Bleed the hydraulic lines correctly: Ensure you purge all air bubbles from the brake lines using a compatible trailer brake bleed procedure to maintain optimal 2-tonne stopping power.
✓ Check caliper slide operation: Inspect and lightly lubricate the caliper slide pins regularly to guarantee the **hydraulic calipers** apply even pressure to both sides of the 12-inch disc.

What You SHOULD NOT Do (Don’ts)

✗ Do not submerge the rotors while hot: Avoid launching your boat right after a long drive; allow the 12-inch DeeMaxx discs to cool down to prevent thermal shock warping.
✗ Do not use silicone-based (DOT 5) fluid unless specified: Stick to the manufacturer-recommended brake fluid (typically high-quality DOT 3 or DOT 4) to protect the internal caliper piston seals from deteriorating.
✗ Do not weld onto the galvanised axle beam: Never weld directly onto the main **50mm square gal tube**, as the intense heat alters the metal characteristics and releases highly toxic zinc fumes.
