- Do inspect the ring eye regularly for signs of grooving, elongation, or wear, and replace it if it falls below safety tolerances.
- Do keep the connection clean and lubricated if grease nipples are provided on your matching towing assembly.
- Confirm that your safety chains and shackles are rated appropriately for the 10-tonne towing setup.
❌ The Don’ts
- Don’t ever exceed the maximum 10t towing capacity or the rated D-Value of the coupling assembly.
- Don’t use standard 50mm or 70mm tow balls with this coupling; it must only be coupled with an approved matching pintle hook or combination hitch.
- Don’t modify, drill, or weld the coupling ring, as this will void the CTA-045953 approval and compromise structural integrity.
- Don’t operate the vehicle if the pintle hook locking mechanism is not fully engaged and pinned securely in place.
- Don’t ignore unusual noise or rattling during transport; stop immediately in a safe location to inspect the hitch connection.
