Trojan 2t Marine Seal
Trojan 2t Marine Seal – PT10141 2t and 3t Landcruiser hubs, drums, and disc rotors.
Suits hubs and drums bearing numbers LM48510 and LM44649.
Trojan 2t Marine Seal Installation Instructions:
- Check the Trojan 2t Marine Seal fits perfectly onto the axle journal before proceeding further.
- Grease the ID of the seal before installation onto the axle.
- Insert the steel ring into the hub and make sure it is hard against the outside boss of the wheel hub.
- Insert rubber seal over the axle journal.
- Install hub and bearings over rubber seal.
The hub should be pushed hard onto the rubber seal, and the rubber seal should be hard against the axle shoulder.
The axle shoulder prevents the seal from sliding further down the axle.

Trojan 2t Marine Seal Guide
Protect your boat trailer bearings from salt water and road grime by following these essential marine seal guidelines.
- Check axle diameter: Verify your spindle shoulder matches the exact 2-tonne Trojan specification before starting.
- Lubricate the inner lip: Apply a light coating of marine wheel bearing grease to the internal rubber lip to stop dry friction damage.
- Press it flat: Use a seal driver tool or a flat block of wood to press the seal perfectly parallel into the rear of the hub.
- Clean the spindle journal: Remove all old rust, pitting, and built-up grime from the axle surface where the seal sits.
- Inspect every season: Check the integrity of the rubber seals before and after long storage periods or extended immersion in saltwater.
- Don’t use metal hammers directly: Never strike the rubber casing or metal rim of the marine seal directly with a steel hammer.
- Don’t reuse old seals: Avoid putting a distorted, stiffened, or torn seal back into a freshly packed hub assembly.
- Don’t use standard grease: Avoid basic automotive grease; always use heavy-duty, water-insoluble marine grease for trailer hubs.
- Don’t ignore grooves on the axle: Never slide a new marine seal over a heavily grooved or scored axle journal, as it will leak immediately.
- Don’t over-force it: Avoid forcing the seal past its seating position in the hub cavity, which can warp the rubber profile.
