Caravan side marker light. Trailers over 2100mm in width must have reflectors AND LED side marker lights attached to the trailers’ sides and campers’ sides.

• Suitable voltages are 9v to 33v.

Reflectors are mounted

• To the rear of the mudguard – Red
• To the front of the mudguard – Amber

In addition, trailers over 2100mm in width must carry side marker lamps.

LED lamps are attached to the side of the caravan or trailer mudguard and are illuminated at night.

Installing new caravan indicator lights and sidelights for caravans

Quite often, installing new lights causes the tow vehicle to flicker. Flickering lamps s a severe problem as the onboard computer will be reporting the issue to your dash.

Installing an ECU to bypass the vehicle computer fixes flickering indicator light problems.

The onboard computer measures resistance, wattage and voltage drop to the newly installed lamps. It is quite likely the new lights fall outside the computer specifications.

The best remedy used by many tow bar installers is to install a new ECU (electronic control unit) to control the LED light kit.

In 100% of cases, installing the ECU fixes problems with the vehicle’s flickering lights.
