45mm Steel Spring Bush to suit Caravan, Camper and Trailer Shackle Springs
A 45mm steel spring shackle bush is a fantastic replacement when the use of nylon bushes creates excessive wear..
Nylon spring bushes are self-lubricating. Therefore, they do not require greasable shackle pins. Standard pins are suitable for nylon bushes.
Examples of suspensions with suitable steel bushings are outback springs and tandem rocker arms, where the centre bush is 22mm OD.
This rocker bush carries half the trailer’s weight, making it ideal for upgrading.
You will need to upgrade to greaseable shackle bolts when using steel bushes.

To install, place the steel bush over the nylon shackle bush and tap it with a hammer until the nylon bush is fully seated.
Spring shackle bushes should be checked regularly and greased as needed. Removing the shackle pin and examining the hanger and the bolt for wear is also good practice.
Also, inspect the shackle plates and pins attached to the 45mm spring before purchasing your trailer parts.
