How do electric trailer brakes work?
An electrical current from your vehicle’s brake controller energises an internal electromagnet. This magnet is attracted to the spinning inside face of the brake drum. The friction pulls an actuating arm, leveraging the brake shoes outward against the drum to slow the trailer.
What happens when I let go of the brake pedal?
When the electrical current stops, heavy-duty return springs instantly pull the brake shoes and the electromagnet back to their resting positions, completely releasing the brake.
