Trojan Hydraulic Disc Caliper

The Trojan hydraulic disc caliper is designed to suit 10-inch and 12-inch Trojan disc rotors. Components such as pads and bleed screws are also compatible with other brands, including Alko.

These calipers are cast in SG iron and electro zinc plated for corrosion resistance. They feature a phenolic piston—a high-strength, non-rusting material. Fittings such as slide pins and bleed screws are made from brass, while other components are constructed from stainless steel.

Safety Requirements

Trailer weights exceeding 2000 kg require independent brake control and a breakaway system. This system activates the brakes if the towing vehicle becomes accidentally disconnected.

Performance Upgrade

For improved performance, consider upgrading to stainless steel pistons in your Trojan hydraulic disc caliper.

Maintenance Tips

When changing or checking disc pads, gently compress the piston using a G-clamp. This provides additional clearance for inserting the disc pads.

When reinserting the piston, apply a small amount of silicone lubricant. Unlike grease, silicone lubricant will not contaminate hydraulic fluid.
