Caliper Bleeding

Release the nipple until air escapes.
Once the air has stopped escaping, stop bleeding and move to the next caliper to bleed.

Genuine DeeMaxx Hydraulic Caliper FAQs

Why should I choose genuine DeeMaxx Hydraulic Disc Calipers?

DeeMaxx is the only trailer brake manufacturer to pass the rigorous SAE J2681 Brake Test, with an exceptionally low warranty issue rate of approximately 0.1%. Their calipers feature a proprietary floating design that cools better, fewer moving parts to reduce leak points, and a patented integrated bolt and sleeve assembly for a highly secure, vibration-proof installation.

Installation & Maintenance: The Do’s and Don’ts

✔️ DO:

Do bleed the system completely to prevent excessive actuator movement or a soft, spongy brake pedal caused by trapped air .
Do make use of the laser-etched instructions on the piston side of the caliper to completely eliminate the guesswork out of installation and bleeding .
Do keep the dual rubber bleeder screw caps securely in place to protect the hydraulic system from saltwater, mud, and external road contaminants .
Do verify compatibility with your existing mounting system; DeeMaxx calipers fit smoothly with major surge actuators and electric-over-hydraulic (EOH) setups.
Do complete a proper break-in bedding process for newly installed brake pads to maximise overall friction performance and thermal capacity .

❌ DON’T:

Don’t use non-DeeMaxx brake pads inside your DeeMaxx calipers, as doing so will explicitly void your official DeeMaxx 7-Year Warranty Coverage.
Don’t attempt to install the calipers at incorrect angles (such as forcing open brackets onto rotor/hub kits), which creates dangerous clearance issues with lines and springs .
Don’t let grease, oils, or spray lubricants contaminate the ceramic brake pad linings or rotor faces, which results in dragging, reduced torque, or grabbing .
Don’t skip periodic freshwater washdowns after exposing your trailer to harsh saltwater boat ramps or heavy regional mud .
