The Couplemate™ Shock Absorber Upgrade Kit is specifically engineered to withstand tough Australian conditions.
Equipping your suspension with our Couplemate™ Shock Absorbers minimises both bounce and rattle and ensures a comfortable ride. This all-in-one kit is a great upgrade for caravans, campers and work trailers, especially, as they help protect your precious cargo by absorbing excessive road force.
Couplemate™ Shock Absorbers are a popular choice and are used on trailers worldwide. Because of their robust design and reliability, our engineers prefer to use these on all our Independent Coil Suspension systems.
Finally, if you want to upgrade with this kit, you may want to replace your U-Bolts.

When you buy the Couplemate™ Shock Absorber Upgrade Kit, you will receive:
- 2 x Shock Absorbers
- 4 x M12 Mounting Bolts (w/ nuts)
- 2 x Top Mounting Brackets
- 2 x Bottom Mounting Brackets (L/R)
Installation Guide
Installation Time: 1 hour 30 minutes
Installation Overview:
- Bleed shock absorbers before mounting.
- Weld the top bracket to a rigid point of your trailer (can be drilled & bolted).
- Mount the bottom bracket with your fish plates, ensuring the shock absorber bracket is on the nut side.
- Mount shock absorbers with M12 bolts and torque to 53.4Nm.
Ensure the shock absorber is mounted in the correct direction – the larger diameter of the shock absorber body is mounted into the top bracket, and the shock absorber should be angled towards the rear of the trailer. Do not mount the shock absorbers at an angle of more than 30 degrees.
