AL-KO Push-button park brake suits all couplings used with AL-KO, Treg, AT35, and other off-road couplings.

The electric brake operates a ratchet movement and can be moved anywhere away from the coupling. Usually, the parking brake is located under the rear bolts of the override coupling.

Is space limited behind your trailer coupling? In this instance, the handbrake can be located elsewhere, on your chassis rail.

⚙️ AL-KO Push Button Park Brake: Installation & Operation Do’s & Don’ts

✅ The Do’s

Match hole spacings: Ensure your drawbar or override coupling has standard 60mm bolt-centre spacings before mounting.
Align the cable pulley: Check that your brake cable feeds smoothly through the attached pulley to maintain even tension.
Test the ratchet: Pull the 280mm/400mm lever all the way back to confirm the teeth lock tightly when stationary.
Use wheel chocks: Use independent wheel chocks alongside the park brake when storing a heavy trailer on steep inclines.

❌ The Don’ts

Don’t rely on service brakes: Never leave an unhitched caravan parked using only hydraulic or electronic service brakes.
Don’t force without the button: Do not pull or jam the mechanism forward without fully depressing the push-button release.
Don’t leave cables loose: Avoid excessive slack in the mechanical line; ensure proper inner cable adjustments.
Don’t forget lock clearance: Don’t place the handle too close to trailer locks or custom off-road coupling hitches.
