The galvanised trailer brake cable kit is suitable for installing:

electric brake park brake levers;
mechanical-override drum brakes; and
mechanical-override disc brake calipers.

Do not use the cable brake adjuster to adjust your brakes.

The trailer cable brake adjuster removes the slack from the cable. The brake adjuster is inside the electric backing plate or on the back of the caliper arm.

First, adjust the nut until the pads are hard against the rotor, and the rotor is immovable.
Then back the nut off 1/2 turn.
Adjust the cable until tight using the cable adjuster. Do not over-tighten.

✅ The Do’s

Measure carefully: Match your old inner cable and outer housing lengths exactly before cutting.
Use proper tools: Cut housing cleanly with dedicated cable cutters to prevent fraying.
Install end caps: Always crimp the included metal ferrule tips to protect cable ends.
Check tension: Perform a stationary brake test before driving.

❌ The Don’ts

Don’t reuse: Never use old, frayed inner wires with new outer housings.
Don’t over-lubricate: Avoid heavy grease if your kit features pre-lubricated slick liners.
Don’t kink lines: Avoid sharp structural bends when routing the housing along the bike frame.
Don’t overtighten: Stop tightening the clamp bolt once the inner core is firmly locked to avoid crushing threads.
