Side trailer reflectors are an essential part of road vehicle safety. Regulations for trailer and caravan reflectors change depending on whether you live in Australia or New Zealand, as well as what state you’re in.
For Australians, reflectors for trailers and caravans are covered in multiple sections of the Australian Design Rules (ADR). While not an exhaustive list, trailer chassis and caravan body reflectors appear in:
- ADR 47 – Retroreflectors
- ADR 49 – Front and rear position (side) lamps, stop lamps and end-outline marker lamps
- ADR 74 – Side marker lamps
