80mm square galvanised  U-Bolt by Couplemate can be supplied bulk with nuts and washers on the threads in boxes of 50.

Rolled threads with gal flat washer + gal nylock. The thread length is 60mm.

How do I calculate the correct length, measure

• Spring width plus
• Axle Pad 8mm plus
• Axle width plus
• Nylock plus
• 5mm thread through nylock

For example, 3 leaf slipper on 39mm Round axle is

18mm Spring + 8mm Axle spacer + 39mm axle + Nylock 15mm + 5mm

Total U-bolt minimum length = 120mm

How to Measure U-bolts (example)

It is important you retighten U bolts approx 200lkms after installation due to steel’s ability to stretch a little under load.

U bolts are a major cause of caravan wheel alignment problems.

U bolts generally fail due to hydrogen embrittlement. Hydrogen embrittlement occurs during bending and galvanising. At Couplemate, we have an extra process that removes hydrogen embrittlement to produce st class u bolts.

We stress-tested these u bolts during manufacture and batch test until destruction.

Destruction loads exceed 17,000kg for 1/2 inch galvanised u bolts.

Our u bolts are derated to 375kg each or 1500kg per set of 4 or enough u bolts to suit a single axle.

The max rating of 60mm Round axles is 3000kg with u bolt rating @ 1500kg.
